Mungo at Two

It is with profound sadness that Merren and I report that Mungo has died today. A valiant companion, a peaceable Scottish Terrier, Mungo was a good dog and an intrepid traveler. Particularly if the road led to a beach. And he was, unsurprisingly, an independent old cuss, even as a puppy. Mungo has appeared in numerous paintings, and writings, as an inspiration. Mungo, Mungo, Mungo, the little black dog has gone home at last. After years of battle with numerous afflictions, he is now at rest.

He will always be remembered fondly by us, his two servants.

Rest in Peace. Good Dog.
